AVERAGE WEIGHT:

 

Big rod-caught Bass can weigh 141bs. or over.  The average Bass weight about 3 lbs.

 

 

SEASON:

 

All year round except from the 15th. May  -  15th. June, during spawning to conserve stocks.  There is a bag limit all year round of two fish per rod.  All Bass under 12 inches must be released.

 

 

FEEDING PLACES:

 

Rough, turbulent inshore waters, off rocky shorelines, river estuaries and strong currents on sandy beaches.

 

 

BAIT:

 

Almost anything.  Mackerel, Squid or Herring strips.  Sandeels, Peeler Crab,          Shellfish, Ragworm and Lugworm.  Limpets.

 

 

RIGS:

 

Running Paternoster.  Running 2 Hook Leger.
